The city of Milan operates a 139-acre park known as Sanford Road Park. This park contains an equestrian center, walking and biking paths and a children’s playground. The center of the park contains soccer fields, and is also home to the Milan Youth Soccer Club. On one end, the Milan Flyers make their home in a field that is perfect for flying model airplanes in. The city also has other parks that contain facilities, such as softball fields and basketball courts.

Living

Milan homes are known for their period architecture, with many of them being constructed shortly after World War II. Homes in downtown Milan sit along tree-lined streets, and consist of single-family dwellings with covered porches, attached garages and fenced-in yards. These houses lend to the nostalgic feel of the town, helping to provide a cozy atmosphere to this city of slightly less than 6,000 people.

Schools, Health, Transportation

Children here are served by the Milan Area School System, which operates two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Adults can attend nearby Adrian College, which is operated by the United Methodist Church to further their education. Several family practitioners, as well as a chiropractor and foot doctor, have practices here. Additionally, residents can easily reach nearby hospitals in Ann Arbor or Saline by traveling on Highway 23 or Interstates 275 or 94.
